When I heard of Prym’s “As You Are” campaign, I knew it was right up my street. Not only am I passionate about embroidery, I’m also passionate about self-love and acceptance - getting to combine embroidery and empowerment has been so much fun!
My design is to fit on a beret but could be stitched onto anything – I think it would look cute on a pocket tee! I chose to embroider the word ‘iconic’ because we so often look outside of ourselves for icons and heroes, when actually we should be looking inward and celebrating ourselves much, much more.
Each flower I’ve included symbolizes some of the reasons we should be our own icons: grape hyacinth means power and confidence; forget-me-nots symbolize true love and hope; clematises celebrate our mental acuity and wisdom; mimosa signifies sensitivity and strength; and a red pansy is a universal symbol of romance.
